Our attention has been drawn to a misleading and malicious publication by Sahara Reporters, alleging that the Plateau State Government budgeted the sum of ₦400 million for the procurement of 5,400 generators due to the nationwide epileptic power supply.
This report is false, baseless, and unfounded. It is a product of deliberate mischief orchestrated by detractors who are uncomfortable with the steady progress Plateau State is making under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
For the avoidance of doubt, a careful scrutiny of the 2025 Plateau State Budget reveals no such provision or allocation for the purchase of generators. The report is, therefore, a complete fabrication intended to mislead the public and discredit the commendable efforts of the present administration.
It is on record that Governor Mutfwang’s administration has embarked on a massive solar energy revolution aimed at powering the state sustainably. The initiative began in Jos and Bukuru Metropolis, where solar-powered streetlights are being installed to enhance security and improve nightlife.
According to the contractors handling the project, this effort will soon be extended to rural communities to curb insecurity, stimulate local economic activities, and promote self-reliance among citizens.
The Plateau State Government remains committed to transparent governance and sustainable energy solutions. As citizens and beneficiaries of the laudable initiative, We urge members of the public to disregard the said publication by Sahara Reporters and treat it as the handiwork of mischief makers bent on tarnishing the image of the government.
