Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Naanlong Daniel Gapyil, has emerged victorious in the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Mikang State Constituency seat.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, Rt. Hon. Daniel expressed gratitude to God Almighty for granting him victory and appreciated the people of Mikang for their confidence, support, and steadfast belief in his leadership.
The Speaker described the primary election as a “family affair” emphasizing that there was no victor and no vanquished in the contest, noting that all aspirants and party faithful remain members of one political family working towards the collective progress of Mikang and the APC.
According to him, the outcome of the primary election should not divide the people but rather strengthen the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and cooperation among party members and supporters across the constituency.
Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel further called on all APC stakeholders, supporters, youths, and women groups to close ranks and work together ahead of the general elections, stressing that the development of Mikang remains the ultimate priority.
He reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation, people-oriented leadership, and the advancement of education, infrastructure, and empowerment programmes that would continue to uplift the lives of the people.
The Speaker also extended a hand of fellowship to other aspirants who participated in the exercise, commending them for their maturity and democratic spirit throughout the process.
Residents and party supporters across Mikang have continued to celebrate the victory, describing it as a reflection of the Speaker’s grassroots acceptance, performance, and dedication to the welfare of the people.
