The week‑long Enchanting Plateau Exhibition 2025, held at the Odilins Event Center from December 1 to Sunday, December 7, has turned the city of Jos into a kaleidoscope of colour, music, art and cultural expression. The event, themed “One,” has drawn entertainment lovers, creatives and cultural enthusiasts from across Nigeria, positioning Plateau State as a growing force in the national entertainment landscape.
Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, lauded the exhibition as a transformative cultural force that has reshaped perceptions of Plateau within a single year. Though unable to attend in person, Musawa expressed unwavering support for the initiative, praising the theme “One” for reinforcing unity, shared identity and collective progress. She commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his consistent commitment to the creative sector and affirmed the Federal Ministry’s dedication to expanding opportunities within the creative value chain, noting that projects such as Enchanting Plateau boost Nigeria’s soft power and enhance the country’s global cultural influence.
David Thomas, convener of the exhibition, emphasized the entertainment‑driven vision behind Enchanting Plateau. He explained that while Plateau State has long produced remarkable musicians, actors and visual artists, the region lacked a consistent platform that matched national and international creative standards. Over the past year the initiative has showcased more than 300 artworks, supported over 100 artists, hosted school competitions and forged strong partnerships across the tourism and cultural ecosystem. Thomas thanked stakeholders and urged the public to attend performances and support artists, stressing that such engagement will elevate Plateau’s entertainment and creative industries.
Musical artist Fortune Anjugu, also known as “For Tune,” described the collaborative energy of the exhibition as “a blessing.” He praised Thomas for building a structured system that gives artists visibility and long‑term opportunities, highlighting the entertainment segment as inspiring and noting a unique artwork inspired by the Mugavu language of the Mangu people. Afro‑soul and R&B singer Omojo Umoru, who has lived in Jos since 2017, debunked negative perceptions of the city, calling it peaceful, beautiful and filled with kind people. She praised the exhibition’s stunning setting, vibrant performances and creative displays, and pledged to share the experience with her audience.
Spoken‑word artist and tech professional Gideon King (G. King) hailed Enchanting Plateau as a world‑class entertainment platform that fuels creativity and provides artists with the visibility they need. He stressed that art “keeps the world alive,” offering meaning beyond routine survival, and urged the public to support artists through patronage and promotion. As the exhibition continues through December 7, the Odilins Event Center remains a melting pot of entertainment, culture and artistic brilliance, positioning Plateau State as a rising entertainment hotspot in Nigeria and promising a brighter future for the state’s creative industry.
