CONAECDA ADOPTS ZONING OF THE PRESIDENCY IN 2027 TO THE SOUTH

As political parties prepare to start activities towards the 2027 General Election; The Conference of Autochthonous Ethnic nationalities Community Development Associations, CONAECDA, has resolved to continue to support power rotation and therefore adopts the zoning of the office of the President to Southern Part of Nigeria in 2027.

The Conference, made it’s position known in a Communique issued and signed by Danladi Jeji and Suleman D Sukukum, Conference President and Secretary respectively, after it’s 12th Annual Conference held in Jos, Plateau State from December 4-7, 2025, advanced that, in keeping with the principle of the Zoning arrangement, the Presidency should move to either the North East or the North Central in 2031.

Delegates at the Conference also appreciated the CONAECDA secretariat’s engagements with Governments at State, Regional and Federal level and resolved to continue with non-partisan engagements with governments.

The Community leaders also resolved to actively promote democracy and transparent elections through voter education, town hall meetings and election monitoring.
