The Vanguard for Credible Leadership and Good Governance strongly condemns the brutal attack that occurred on Sunday night at Angwan Rukuba, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Plateau State.

We urge the public to be security conscious and vigilant, and to cooperate with security agencies to prevent further attacks. Intelligence reports had indicated potential threats, and we call on security agencies to be proactive and act on such intelligence to prevent future attacks.

We demand that the government takes immediate action to protect lives and properties, and to hold perpetrators accountable. The society will not tolerate such attacks, and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure citizens safety.

We appeal for calm and restraint, and urge citizens not to take the law into their own hands. Instead, we enjoin the people to work together with security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.

We also urge the government to provide urgent support to the affected families and to take concrete steps to prevent future attacks. It is time for action, not just condolences.

Signed,
Dr David Adeniken,
Convener, Vanguard for Credible Leadership and Good Governance
