Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam, Plateau State – Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, has concluded Day 2 of his ward tour across the constituency, with large crowds recorded in the communities visited on May 12 continues day 3, 13 May 2026.
The lawmaker visited Langshi, Dokpai, Ampir, Gyangyan, Nemel, Dawaki, Kabir, Ampang, and Wuchenbe during Day 2 a of the tour. The events drew massive turnout, with elders, youths, and women turning out in numbers to pledge support ahead of the party primaries and general elections.
In Dawaki, where Gagdi was conferred with the traditional title of _Sarkin Yakin Dawaki_ in recognition of his contributions to the area. The crowd promised to mobilize massive votes for him during the primaries, citing his track record of delivering projects and empowerment programmes across the constituency.

Speaking during the tour, Gagdi said the visits were not primarily about campaigning but about staying connected with the people who elected him. “If I don’t do it now, I don’t want to feel within me that because I am representing the people, I have grown horns and am too big to relate with them,” he said. He added that his focus remains on delivering the dividends of democracy rather than making empty promises.
The lawmaker highlighted ongoing projects, including the completion of a modern primary healthcare centre in Ganga and a town hall for the traditional ruler in Dungum, both about 70% completed. He also pledged to complete the project in Langkang, noting that his record speaks for itself. “If given the opportunity again, I will do better than what I have done in the past seven or eight years,” he stated.
Gagdi pointed to interventions in education and infrastructure, including the construction of classroom blocks in Belnin, payment of WAEC fees for students in Nemel, and the establishment of the Federal University of Education in the constituency. He also said he had lobbied for jobs and provided motorised and solar boreholes to improve access to clean water for residents.
The APC ward chairman in Belnin assured Gagdi of maximum support, saying the community had felt his presence through tangible projects. In Langshi, residents welcomed him with a massive crowd and pledged their votes, while in Nemel, the ward chairman described his achievements as evidence that he deserved another term.
Gagdi urged constituents to protect their votes, noting that the upcoming elections would use an open ballot system. He said he had never made promises he could not fulfil and called on voters to judge aspirants by what they had done for their communities.
He concluded by thanking the people for their reception and reiterated his commitment to selfless service. “I am not bragging, but I don’t think there is a public servant who can go around his constituency without being confronted over economic hardship, yet the people still came out to receive me,” he said.
