Over the past few days, I have taken time to travel across Bokkos/Mangu Federal Constituency to express my heartfelt gratitude to my team, who stood by me throughout my electioneering campaign for the seat of Member Federal House of Representatives Bokkos/Mangu Constituency. To me, this is a vital step; scripturally, giving thanks in all circumstances is a fundamental doctrine of our Christian faith.
During this thank you tour, I was opportuned to hold indepth discussions with elders, critical stakeholders and family members. I would like to state here that as we campaigned throughout the 40 state wards of Bokkos/Mangu Federal Constituency, one thing was overwhelmingly clear: both our message and the messenger were received with open arms. I want to use this medium to once again thank every single person who was integral to our journey thus far. Everything we achieved was because of your faith, efforts and dedication.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, I understand fully that engaging in politics as a Christian means adhering to biblical principles. This commitment to faith, integrity, and duty was my guiding light throughout my military career, and it remains my foundation today. Scripture reminds us that the first commandment with a promise is to honor our parents and by extension, the fathers, mothers, and leaders of our communities, so that it may go well with us.
My recent discussions with our elders and critical stakeholders have deeply informed my decision. Guided by their counsel, my faith, and a commitment to the greater good of our people, I have made a very important, yet difficult decision: *I have decided to withdraw the lawsuit I instituted against my party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), regarding the recent party primaries for the Bokkos/Mangu Federal Constituency, and I have immediately instructed my legal team to effect this directive.*
This decision is born out of profound respect for the wisdom of our elders and the overarching need for unity within the party and our constituency. While pursuing legal redress was my rightful option, leadership often requires sacrifices for peace, harmony, and progress. We cannot build a stronger, more prosperous party and constituency if our house remains divided.
To my loyal supporters, I know some of you may feel conflicted by this decision, but I assure you that this is not a retreat; it is a strategic step towards healing and collective strength. Our vision for Bokkos/Mangu remains unchanged, and our commitment to serving our people remains unshakable.
I thank you all for your unwavering support, your patience, and your continued prayers. May God bless the All Progressives Congress and Bokkos/Mangu Federal Constituency, and may He guide us as we move forward together in unity.
