Today, I join millions of Plateau people, Nigerians, and well-wishers across the globe to celebrate an icon of our time, a father, a mentor, and a true elder statesman, *His Excellency, Da Senator Jonah David Jang*, on the glorious occasion of his *80th birthday* and the unveiling of his book and biography, *”From Airman to Politics My Life.”*
Da Jang, your life is a testimony that greatness is built on discipline, courage, and an unwavering commitment to service. From your gallant days as an *Airman* in the Nigerian Air Force, to your distinguished service as a *Military Governor*, *Executive Governor of Plateau State*, and *Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria*, you have written your name in gold in the history of our nation.
You are not just a leader, you are a *legend, an institution, and a bridge-builder* whose footsteps have shaped the political, social, and moral foundation of Plateau State. Your leadership was defined by boldness, vision, and a deep love for the people. Through seasons of peace and turbulence, you stood firm as a statesman who chose unity over division, and development over sentiment.
The launch of your book, *”From Airman to Politics”*, is more than a memoir. It is a compass for the next generation. It captures the story of sacrifice, leadership, faith, and resilience. It will inspire young leaders to serve with integrity and to put nation and people first.
