Concerned youths and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Jos South Local Government have called for the immediate release of the authentic result of the party’s House of Assembly primary held on 20 May 2026, alleging attempts to manipulate the outcome.
The group, which gathered at the APC State Secretariat in Kalwa House, said they monitored the process closely and are in possession of documents showing both the authentic result and another version they claim does not reflect the votes cast on the ground. They urged the party to ensure the will of the people prevails over that of unelected individuals.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Andrew Dalyop said the delay in announcing the result more than 48 hours after voting had created suspicion, anxiety, and avoidable tension. “If people are asked to leave their farms, shops, homes, offices, and daily duties to queue and vote, then their votes must be respected. A primary election cannot be treated as a ceremony after which another result is written elsewhere,” he told journalists.
According to the group, Hon. Mancha John Vincent emerged with 4,326 votes based on the result known to party members at the local level. They called on the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and the national leadership of the party to intervene and announce the authentic result without delay. The group also appealed for calm, discipline, and lawful conduct among youths and party members, stressing that the strength of the APC in Plateau State depends on justice, fairness, and the trust of grassroots members.
