The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, has expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the recent attacks on Erena and Bagna communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, which resulted in the tragic loss of lives, displacement of residents, and destruction of properties.
Speaking on behalf of the Governing Board, Management, and Staff of the Commission, Dr. Tsenyil strongly condemned the heinous acts, describing them as barbaric and unacceptable.
He noted that such senseless violence not only undermines the peace and security of communities but also threatens ongoing efforts towards development and stability in the North Central region.
The NCDC boss extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and expressed solidarity with all those affected by the attacks.
He also sympathised with Executive Governor of Niger State H.E. Mohammed Umar Bago, the Government and people of Niger State over the unfortunate incident, assuring them of the Commission’s continued support in addressing humanitarian and developmental challenges arising from such crises.
Dr. Tsenyil called on security agencies to intensify efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the protection of lives and property across vulnerable communities.
He further urged stakeholders at all levels to work collaboratively in fostering peace, unity, and resilience among citizens.
The North Central Development Commission remains committed to its mandate of supporting recovery, reconstruction, and sustainable development in affected communities across the region.
