The Plateau State Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA) has launched its 2026 field activities with a sensitization exercise at Bukuru Market, emphasizing proper waste disposal practices and promoting a cleaner environment.
The exercise involved educating traders on the use of polythene bags for packaging refuse, enabling easy evacuation by PEPSA waste collection trucks. Polythene bags were distributed to traders, and the interactive session saw strong cooperation and engagement from the market community.
PEPSA officials announced plans to assess compliance with the directives, with enforcement measures to be applied where necessary. The agency’s commitment to community engagement, environmental education, and sustainable sanitation practices was reinforced through the initiative.
The successful exercise sets a positive tone for PEPSA’s activities in 2026, promoting a healthier Plateau State.
