Raymond Dabo remains the authentic chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Plateau State chapter.
The attention of Senator Jonah David Jang, former governor of Plateau State and leader of the People’s Democratic Party on the Plateau, has been drawn to a recent kangaroo congress in Jos purportedly held by some self-seeking, power-hungry individuals in connivance with undemocratic forces outside the state, in an attempt to further discredit the PDP.
It is a well-known and established fact that, at no time, did the State Working Committee of the PDP in Plateau State have any cracks.
They were duly elected in a well-organized and INEC-monitored congress in accordance with the party’s constitution.
So, as far as the law and the supporters of the PDP are concerned, there is no reason to organize any congress in the first place; therefore, all actions of those involved in the so-called congress, both legally and publicly, are null and void, and of no effect.
We are aware of the ongoing crisis at the national level and, as party leaders, we are doing everything possible to resolve every issue and reposition the party for unity and progress.
Senator Jonah David Jang and other PDP stakeholders have been meeting in Abuja over the past two weeks, and these discussions will continue this week with the hope of resolving these issues.
Senator Jonah Jang is therefore calling on all genuine party members to stay steadfast and remain united, believing that all of these issues will be resolved soon.
The former governor also urges agents of distraction in the state to cease their harmful acts, as genuine party members should focus on resolving issues rather than complicating them.
Plateau is PDP, and PDP is Plateau.
The State Working Committee of the PDP, led by Chairman Chief Raymond Dabo, is the only recognized party executive in the state.
