Leaders of the Plateau North Youth Group have paid a solidarity visit to Mr. John Gamasaura Katura, Patron of the Plateau Youth Council for the Plateau North Senatorial District and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Anaguta Youth Development and Cultural Association, at his Abuja residence. The visit, which held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, brought together youth representatives from all indigenous tribes in the Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency.
The delegation, led by Pastor Julius S. Rabo and ably represented by Mr. Ezekiel Joseph Zi, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Katura for his consistent support to youth development and unity across the constituency. The youth leaders described the visit as a symbol of their shared hope and collective destiny, noting that their discussions were frank, fruitful, and impactful.
During the meeting, the group reaffirmed their position on the zoning of the Federal House of Representatives seat for the Jos-North/Bassa Constituency. They emphasized that the seat should be zoned to Jos-North and further micro-zoned to the Anaguta nation to ensure justice, equity, and fair rotation of leadership.
The youth leaders said the call was rooted in the need to give every segment of the constituency a true sense of belonging and to uphold principles that foster lasting peace. They commended Katura’s mature leadership and his role in championing fairness in political representation.
In his response, Katura expressed deep appreciation for the solidarity visit and the recognition of his modest philanthropic efforts toward youth empowerment and inter-tribal unity. He said the kind words and support from the youth leaders had strengthened his resolve to remain steadfast, accountable, and dedicated to the common cause of development.
Katura, who also serves as Managing Director/CEO of Jokatu Property Development Ltd, Abuja, reiterated his appeal for unity among the youth. He urged them to consciously shun all forms of social vices and reject political thuggery, stressing that the strength of the constituency lies in intellect, character, and unity.
“A united family always stands strong,” Katura said, adding that the youth’s commitment to uniting across tribal lines is the foundation upon which a stronger and more prosperous constituency can be built. He pledged to continue supporting initiatives that promote peace and progress.
The youth leaders, in turn, declared their support for Katura, describing him as a “backbone” to the youth of Plateau North. They pledged to work with him to advance development and ensure fair political representation for all communities.
Katura concluded by thanking the delegation for their show of love and visionary leadership, expressing optimism for continued collaboration in building a future of progress, peace, and prosperity for the people of Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency.
